David Jerome St. Amant, 67, of Tampa, FL, died on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at his home. Surving are his loving wife and sons, Patti Hinderer St. Amant, 61, Patrick Edward St. Amant, 25, and Christopher David St. Amant, 19.
David was born in Tampa, FL. He was the son of Lawrence James St. Amant, deceased, and Marie Elaine Boudreaux St. Amant, 98, of Tampa, FL.
David was a member of the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Tampa, FL. His faith was very important to him.
David was the fourth of six children. He is survived by his siblings: Bernadette Wold (Robert Wold, deceased), John St. Amant and wife Kathi St. Amant, Laura Davis (Ben Davis, deceased), Joseph St. Amant and wife Michele and Timothy St. Amant.
David adored his family. He was never happier than when attending a big family gathering of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
David was also loved by mother-in-law Ann Hinderer of Tampa, FL and all Patti's family and friends.
David served six years in the Navy and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He made several life long friends while in the Navy/ college who raised their families in Tampa and made many wonderful memories together.
David's engineering career included employment at Texas Instruments Dallas, Honeywell Tampa Honeywell Clearwater; E-Systems St. Petersburg and Group Technologies Tampa.
David loved music. His extensive vinyl collection includes every genre. At the end of every day, he could be found sitting in his easy chair or beach chair, toe tapping, while blasting sounds from the past.
He was an accomplished handyman. He and Patti loved nothing more than to dream up projects and spend years almost finishing them.
He will be missed forever.
