Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Carol lived in New York before moving to Palm City, FL in 1988 with her husband, Donald.
After joining the Boulder Ledge Garden Club in Bronxville, N.Y., Carol became a life-long student of plants and flowers, earning many ribbons for horticultural excellence and artistry. She was a Master Judge for the 9th District of Federated Garden Clubs of New York. Once in Florida, Carol became a Bromeliad enthusiast. She studied diligently and exhibited in many tropical flower shows, becoming accredited a Master Judge by Bromeliad Society International.
Carol was an avid golfer for over 45 years, winning several Ladies’ Club Championships and scoring three ‘Hole- in- Ones'. Carol and Donald enjoyed their golf trips, often travelling to distant courses throughout the country for weeks at a time.
Carol and Donald’s travels also involved her judging in Tropical Flower and Garden Shows and visiting beloved family. Her humor, insight, intellect and kindness will be greatly missed.
Carol was preceded in death by her best friend and dear husband, Donald Breen, and her two brothers, Anthony M. Walla and Joseph M. Bednarz. She is survived by daughter, Linda Breen; son, Donald Breen, Jr. (Debra Harris); grandsons, Austin Breen (Sarah) and Ryan Breen; great grandsons, Owen and Bennett Breen, and nieces and nephews.
