Bruce William Scarola

Dr. Bruce William Scarola died surrounded by those he loved most on May 6th, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Mary Muniz Scarola; daughter, Elizabeth Scarola; daughter, Melissa Coyle (Joseph); grandsons Joseph and William and his brother, James (Sally) Scarola and many other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Barbara Scarola.

Bruce attended Gorrie Elementary, where he met his wife, Mary in first grade. He also attended the Academy of the Holy Names and Jesuit High School in Tampa. Upon graduating from Jesuit, he attended Emory University, the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and St. Louis University’s Department of Orthodontics. He practiced orthodontics in the Tampa and Brandon area for over 30 years. He was passionate about his profession and held his office staff, colleagues, and patients in high esteem.

His biggest joy in life was to be surrounded by his family and friends.

A wake is scheduled at Blount & Curry Funeral Home (605 S MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL 33609) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 12th. A funeral mass will be held at Jesuit High School Chapel (4701 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614) on Saturday, May 13th at 1 p.m. It will be followed by a private family burial at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muniz-Scarola endowed scholarship at Jesuit High School Tampa or the Academy of the Holy Names Tampa in memory of Bruce Scarola.
