Betty was born July 25, 1935 to William Ferrell Bennett and Esther Booth in Homerville, Georgia. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy McCullen, Theresa Hancock; their respective families; brothers, Ronnie Bennett, Harley Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Scott; sister, Dorothy Melanson; and four brothers, Royce, Junior, Donald and Kenneth.
Betty was raised by William and Mildred Bennett. She attended school in Brandon, Florida. She graduated from Brandon High School and went on to college to get a teaching degree. She taught kindergarten for Community Baptist then opened her own preschool and daycare, Scott’s Kiddie Kollege. Betty was a devout Christian. She taught many young people and children the love of God. It was important to her that they had the opportunity to hear the Gospel.
A visitation for Betty will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at Clairmel First Assembly of God, 2415 South 78th Street, Tampa, Florida. A funeral service will occur 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Clairmel First Assembly of God, 2415 South 78th Street, Tampa, Florida. Interment to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, Florida.
