Audrey Elizabeth Bayer Bussey, age 99, of Ruskin, Florida passed peacefully to Heaven on March 2, 2022. Audrey was born October 17, 1922 in Dorchester, Massachusetts to the late William Charles and Grace Eleanor (Peterson) Bayer.
Audrey has always been both an 8 hour working woman and a 24 hour homemaker. The wife of a military man, there were times she had to be both mother and father to her two daughters. She raised her children to have faith in God and love and trust their country. Being an active participant in her children's activities, she was loved and admired by all their friends.
Audrey retired from Federal Civil Service where for many years she served as an accountant and clerical support for the Dept. of Defense, Camp Pendleton, CA; Minneapolis, MN; Office of Personnel Management, Miami, Florida and finally the Customs and Border Patrol in Miami, Florida.
Audrey was an exceptional organist who entertained friends and family whenever possible. Her many interests include gardening and yard work, arts and crafts and sewing. When she and Wally moved to Ruskin, she even took up crab trapping and loved it.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Walter E. Bussey, sisters Wilma Grace Bayer, Doris Edna Ceven, brothers William Charles Bayer Jr., and Walter Robert Bayer. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Roberto (Carmine), Montgomery, Alabama and Susan Stanley (Jerry),Lutz, Florida and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She will be remembered for her smile, her laugh and her love for her family and friends.
