Rags was a graduate of Stetson University. He worked for many years at Sinclair Oil, BP Oil, and 35 years for the city of Tampa real estate division. Rags and his wife were long time members of Forest Hills United Methodist Church.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Ragsdale; parents, Arlington and Bessie Ragsdale; sister, Miriam; brother, Wade of Atlanta. He is survived by son, James and wife, Laurie of Tampa; granddaughter, Lindsey and husband, Sean of Gainesville.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. January 5, 2023 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
