Massey, Ann Turman, 83 of Tampa passed away on September 9, 2015. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Major John T. Massey, USAF (Ret); daughters, Sandra Massey of Tampa, Cynthia Massey of Tampa, Willa Powless of Tierra Verde; and Joann Purviance of Tampa; sister, Virginia Newman of Tallahassee; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and extended family members and close friends. Born November 10, 1931 in Sturgis, MS; Ann has been a Tampa Bay resident since 1975. She was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Tampa. She also participated in Bible Study Fellowship, Tampa Chapter of Military Officers Wives Club (MOWC) and Operation Helping Hand. She taught school for 15 years in various locations throughout the country as well as Europe. She and John spent their golden years traveling to 49 states, Europe, Asia and Israel. Ann was an avid fan of Mississippi State athletics. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, September 14 at the First Reformed Church of Tampa, 8283 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at 12:30pm on Tuesday, September 15 at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Reformed Church of Tampa in Ann’s memory.
