Andre Donovan Jarrett

Andre grew up in Jamaica, lived in Kingston, Spanish Town and in St Elizabeth with his late grandmother before immigrating to New York City in 1984. Andre then moved to South Florida in 1999 with his mother, Inez, who passed away in 2021. Despite his challenges, his determination was truly inspiring. His life was full of joy and love and he lifted the spirits of everyone he encountered.

Andre was a remarkable individual, whose journey was marked by resilience and the extraordinary ability to bring joy and inspiration to everyone around him. He had an incredible memory which inspired his passion of telling stories. In his interactions with others, he displayed unconditional love without judgement or reservation - from which we can all learn to be better and more compassionate human beings.

He shared a special bond with his family - a source of endless love, support and security. Andre found joy and fulfillment in his job. He took great pride in showing up to work everyday. Throughout his time in South Florida, he was supported by his incredible support family, co-workers, friends and church community who were all central to his life. This community played a significant role, helping him to reach his potential and to live a life filled with joy and purpose.

Andre passed away tragically in a motor vehicle accident on September 4, 2024. He is survived by his brother, Colin (Renee); niece Joelle; nephew Liam; aunts Vilma, Elva, Cindy, Hazel, Jennetta, Joan, Myrtle; uncle Godfrey; stepfather, Ed; cousins, other relatives and friends.

Thank you for the lessons you taught us, for all the laughter and joy you brought into our lives. We love you; Your memory will always be in our hearts.

A visitation for Andre will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Bailey Memorial, 6701 West Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 6701 West Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319. A committal service will occur Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:15 PM, 7801 Bailey Rd, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.
