William "Gene" Eugene Gandy, Jr.

Mr. Gandy was born in Columbus, GA, and was an active resident of Tallahassee since 1996.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lori; and his son, Will Gandy of Tallahassee; as well as his sister, Carole of Jacksonville, her children and grandchildren; and his brother, Charles “Chuck” and wife, Cindy, of Jacksonville and their kids.

Mr. Gandy was an attorney, academic, ornithologist, environmentalist, and athlete. Mr. Gandy loved the outdoors and could often be found birding St. Marks Wildlife preserve or cheering on the Seminoles at a Florida State University Football Game with his “darling bride”, Lori, and son, Will. Mr. Gandy was also a USTA tennis tournament director and referee who took great pride in winning tennis family of the year for the State of Florida. Mr. Gandy was a world traveler who loved spending time with his family members, friends, work colleagues from Miami, Jacksonville, Valdosta, Columbus, Titusville, Tallahassee and all over the globe.

A graveside service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, Oct 14, 2023 at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Marks Wildlife preserve https://www.stmarksrefuge.org/donate
