David Walsh, 69, of Havana, Florida died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. He was a native from Havana, Florida where he graduated from Havana High School in 1966. He was born on June 18, 1947 to Vernon Elbert Walsh and Bertha Snow Walsh, and served in the Florida National Guard Reserves from April, 1966 – April, 1972. David was a skilled journeyman electrician for 20 years. Effective February 2, 1979, he was initiated into the IBEW Local Union #1205 and later retired November, 2011. For the past 27.5 years, David worked as a salesman/estimator for the floor covering business. He worked for All Florida Contract Carpets, Collier Interiors, C&J Decorating, and ABC Flooring. He enjoyed fishing, watching FSU football, and spending time with his family.
David was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Diane Tye Walsh, of Havana, FL, who were together 27.5 years; son, Andy Walsh of Havana, FL; daughter, Casey Walsh of Palm Bay, FL; step-son, Rodney Whitfield of Ochlocknee, GA; brother, Perry Walsh of Havana, FL; sisters, Susan Lincicome of Tallahassee, FL and Karolyn Mears of Whigham, GA; and 6 grandchildren, Garrett Whitfield, Shyla Walsh, Tyler Hayes, Clay Hayes, Bradyn Cook, and Lawson Whitfield. A private family service will be held at a later date.
