Sylvia Hull Hull Robinson

Sylvia Hull Robinson, 74, passed away December 3, 2011 at the Margaret Z. Dozier Hospice House.

She was born on July 26, 1937 in Danville Virginia. Sylvia graduated from Dreher High School in Columbia, S. C. and attended the University of South Carolina. While at USC she met her future husband, Jack "Rick" Robinson who was a soldier at Fort Jackson in Columbia and a native of Valdese, North Carolina. They were married on October 27, 1956 at Shannon Methodist Church in Columbia and recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. She retired from the Florida State University in July, 1999 where she worked for more than 20 years in the Controller's Office. She did a lot of volunteer work for many charitable organizations. Sylvia and Rick have been active members of the First Baptist Church, Tallahassee for forty years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Eric (and wife, Lori), of Jacksonville, Florida and Trent (and girlfriend Cybill), of Tallahassee; sister, Sandra Webb (and husband, Jack) of Millersville, Maryland; four grandchildren, Logan, Kylie, Sarah and Dorothy; and twin great grandchildren, Joseph and Emily; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and brothers/sisters-in law.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Clark "Duke" Hull and mother, Vera Haywood Hull, formerly of Tampa, Florida.

A memorial service is planned to be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Culley's Meadowood Funeral Home Timberlane Road Chapel. Some of her ashes are to be scattered at her favorite "escapes" in the North Carolina Smokey Mountains and at St. Augustine Beach, Florida, and some ashes will be interred at a place of remembrance for her family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the "Here For Life" Fund at the First Baptist Church, Tallahassee, or Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
