Shirley Gilmer Moore

Shirley was born in Quitman, Georgia and moved to Tallahassee, Florida as a child. Shirley graduated from Leon High School in 1959 and retired from FSU after 30 plus years of service. Shirley was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Florida State Seminole Fan, she loved to bake cakes and other desserts for her family and friends in the neighborhood.

Survivors include 1 Sister Patsy Hodges, 1 Son – Donnie Moore (Hope), 2 Daughters, Michelle Free and Christy Stringer (Hank). 6 Grandchildren, James Moore (Melissa), Amanda Taylor, David Free (Ginger), Jesse Free (Meagan), Jon Johnson and Brannon Stringer. 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents James and Grace Gilmer, her Husband of 62 years Marvin Moore, Daughter Terri Spinette and Granddaughter Morgan Faith Stringer.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 10:00AM with a Graveside Service at 11:00AM. The Funeral will be located at Meadowwood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd. Tallahassee, FL. 32312.
