Sara “Kay” Moore, age 95, born in Centre, Alabama in 1920, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, October 18th in Tallahassee, Florida. She was predeceased by one son who died at 18 months, 2 brothers and 2 sisters and by her wonderful husband of 48 years who died in 1990.
Kay married Steve Moore, the love of her life, during World War II. After the war they moved to Miami, Florida. At the age of 87, after a wonderful life in South Florida, she moved to Tallahassee in 2007 for even more adventures.
Kay is survived by a loving family including her son John, his wife Rita, and their 5 sons: Steve, his wife Renee, their children Sandra Kay and Steven; Douglas, his wife Sara, their children Easton and Hayden; David, his wife Jennifer, their children Madison and Kaitlyn; Jeffrey, his wife Jamie, their children Elizabeth, Lauren and Julia, and Daniel, his wife Gigi, their children Alyssa and John.
Kay lived for and loved her family. Never was there a more loyal and loving mother, grandmother nor great-grandmother. She also loved her cat.
Kay was an active member of the Tallahassee Women’s Newcomers’ Club and loved her participation in every activity, especially playing Bunco and Hand and Foot.
Both her family and friends will miss her greatly as she was an inspiration to all who knew her.
