Known to most as Ronnie or Big Ron, will be remembered as a devoted son, husband, daddy, papa, brother, uncle and friend. Ronnie passed peacefully into the arms of our dear Lord on August 4th, 2023. He was surrounded by his wife, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Berty Porter, grandparents Lumas and Ella Maude Huey, mother in law Frances Melton, father in law Ronald Melton, Aunt Lulabelle and Uncle Henry Huey, brother in laws Bryant Howell and Ronnie Melton, sister in law Kathy Horne-Smith.
Born and raised in Pelham Georgia until he moved to Tallahassee at age 7. He started working part time at the Old Florida Movie Theater at 14 and later landed a job at Jim Bennett’s Plumbing learning the trade. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix. A few years later he found his home at Quality Plumbing and worked there for two amazing men Henry Lambert & Don Curry until he retired after 43 years of being a plumber.
Ronnie enjoyed working on his John Deere tractor, fishing and sharing a Miller Lite with family & friends.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 39 years Lynndee Melton Turner, Daughters Stacey Marlow (Kent), Betsey Turner, Jada Turner. Sons Ronnie Turner Jr and Evan Turner (Basil). Sister Kay Howell. Brothers Fred Porter (Cheryl) and Glen Weaver. Sister-in-law Ginny Melton Rudell (Daryl). Granddaughter MaKenlee Sullivan, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
