Robert "Bob" Sherman Rhinehart Jr.

Robert Sherman Rhinehart, Jr. "Bob" 95 died peacefully at his home of 42 years in Tallahassee Florida surrounded by family. He was born October 6, 1928 in York, Pennsylvania to the parents of Edna Mae Altland and Robert S. Rhinehart Sr. He was a graduate of York High School class of 1946. He followed his dream of moving south and decided to attend Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida; earning his B.S in Biology (1951.)Then joined the Army and served during the Korean War. After his time of service he aspired to further his education and attended the University of Tennessee in pursuit of his Masters Degree. Marriage to his first wife Jackie Rhinehart, lead him back south to Winter Haven, FL followed by the birth of his three children. Cynthia Dale Rhinehart, Robert S. Rhinehart III; and John Keith Rhinehart.

A successful career in local government as Head of Parks & Recreation of Polk County. Followed by the beginning of his company Executive Management Services, Inc. of 56 years lead him to the state capitol of Tallahassee lobbying. Bob was instrumental in passing legislation which made a difference and continues till today.

His career in Tallahassee brought him new love and marriage to Dean T. Rhinehart, and the birth or two more children Rodean S. Rhinehart and Rodena “Spring” Rhinehart.

Bob had many passions throughout his life! Being raised by a famous chef who cooked for President Roosevelt, of course made him very passionate about his cooking. Which he did most every day for his sweet and dearest friend, Mary Nell Smith. He loved to work and continued to until he was 91 years old. Whether it was reading articles out of his many business magazines or writing articles for them, he truly enjoyed the business world. His daily routine would include a gym workout which he was quite the celebrity there, and stopping by the local grocery store to prepare his daily meals. In his younger years, he ran track, played tennis, tap danced, sang in the choir, and enjoyed working in his yard and taking care of his gardens.

He was always surrounded by many that loved him although being an only child, he was such a people person always out to events or ball games. He enjoyed stopping by to see many of his business colleagues, or chatting on the phone with them.

He is preceded in death by his three oldest children. Cynthia Dale Rhinehart , Robert Sherman Rhinehart III, John Keith Rhinehart, and his grandson Mason Robert Rhinehart-White.

He is survived by his two youngest children, Rodean S. Rhinehart and Rodena “Spring”Rhinehart. His grand children, Adam, Andrew, and Nicolas Rhinehart , Amanda, Hill, Aden, and Lincoln White, Ivy and Asher Rhinehart . His daughter in laws, Carol Rhinehart, Janet Rhinehart, and Carolyn Rhinehart. His most dearest friend, Mary Smith.

The Rhinehart family will receive friends for at visitation on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee. Funeral service will occur Monday, October 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Bradfordville First Baptist Church, 6524 Thomasville Rd, Tallahassee. Interment with military honors will follow the service at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
