Nancy Juster Johnson was born in Madison Wisconsin in 1928 and passed away August 30th. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, F. Craig Johnson, her son Glenn Johnson (Ginny Ellsworth), a sister, four grand children and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Mercer.
She received a B.S. (Ed) degree with a major in Speech, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1950, and a M.S degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology in 1963 from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.
She moved to Tallahassee, Florida in 1969 to serve as a speech/language pathologist for the Leon County school district.
After retirement in 1991, she resumed her lifelong interest in art and took up the challenge of watercolor painting. She enjoyed taking classes and workshops in watercolor and joined the Tallahassee Watercolor Society where she served as the Society’s president from 2000 to 2002. Over the years, her paintings garnered many awards.
She was a member and instructor at the Tallahassee Tai-Chi Society. She spent many years learning French at the Tallahassee Senior Center, and had an interest in gardening and birdwatching. She and her husband traveled extensively visiting more than 20 countries and all fifty states.
No memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tallahassee Watercolor Society would be appreciated.
