Marjorie Calhoun Richards passed away on January 2, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 2, 1925 in Newell, West Virginia. Marjorie grew up in East Liverpool, Ohio and later moved to Toronto, Ohio after her marriage to William (Bill) Ray Richards on June 30, 1950. Bill and Marjorie relocated to Cocoa Beach, Florida in 1959 where they both were employed in the space program. Marjorie returned to school and earned a bachelor's degree in Business Education from Rollins College and a master's degree in Administrative Education from Stetson University. Marjorie became a Business Education teacher at Cocoa Beach High School from 1964 until she retired in 1983. She moved with her husband to Tallahassee, FL in 1999 to be closer to family.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, William Richards and her parents, James Adam and Tamar Elizabeth (Harper) Calhoun. She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Joe) Ricci of New Port Richey, FL and Debbie Richards (Cassy Dolgin) of Tallahassee, FL. She has three grandchildren, Jason (Kelsey) Ricci of Lawton, OK, Jenna Ricci of Tampa, FL and Nicholas Richards of Tallahassee, FL and four great grandchildren. Marjorie loved her family who were her pride and joy throughout her life. Her family and friends will always miss and remember her. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date.
