Katherine Green

Katherine Browning Green of Tallahassee, Florida passed away peacefully on August 11, 2018 at Centre Pointe Health and Rehabilitation with Big Bend Hospice providing comfort care. She spent her last year at Allegro Senior Living.

Katherine was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1926 and graduated from Florida State University. In early years, she lived throughout Georgia and then in Jacksonville, Greensboro, and Orlando, Florida. She later spent 15 years in Libertyville, Illinois before retiring to Tallahassee in 1990. She was a home maker and social worker, and held various professional office administration jobs.

Katherine was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed bridge, opera, reading, and family trips to Gulf Coast beaches and North Carolina mountains. One of her favorite pastimes was listening to local and national talk radio.

Katherine was married to her husband Carl P. Green, Jr. for nearly 67 years. She is survived by their two children and spouses, Carla Anne Parris (Peter), Tallahassee, and Clayton Green (Susan Natoli Green), Orlando; grandson, Taylor Green, Orlando; and several nieces and nephews. Katherine was preceded in death by Carl and grandson Austin Green, Orlando, and her younger sister Anne B. Schneider, Orlando.

Her life was celebrated by family at a graveside service on August 14, 2018 at Providence Baptist Church in Gadsden County, Florida. She was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.
