Karen Annette Jones, 50, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on February 26th, 2016. She was the daughter of John Henry Hail and Mary Evelyn LaFollette of Somerset, Kentucky. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Karen graduated from Valdosta State College in 1987 with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. After spending nearly 20 years in the nursing profession, she returned to school in 2002 to further her education. She attended Florida State University graduating in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Social Work. Serving others was her great passion, and Karen spent her entire career following that call.
She is survived by Michael Jones, her husband of 31 years; her daughter Melinda McClellan (Evan) and granddaughters Fiona and Victoria. Other surviving family members include her father John Hail (Noralie), mother Evelyn LaFollette, sisters Sharon Spooner (Bryan) and Carol Thomas (David), her nieces Jennifer Webb (Spencer) and Morgan Lolley, and her nephew Bobby “Trey” Lolley.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, March 7th at St. Louis Catholic Church in Tallahassee, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
