Joe C. Pearson

Joe is survived by his wife, Rose O’Leary and daughters Risé Pearson McKinzie, Efia Pearson, and Heidi Baldwin, as well as grandchildren Brittney Wyche (Chris), Tony Eady, Brandon McKinzie, Madeline McKinzie, Rhys McKinzie, Richard Barron Baldwin, and many nephews, and cousins.

Joe was born in Lake City, Florida and was a graduate of Florida A&M University. He served in the U.S. Army as a dog trainer in the Military Police and was a Vietnam-era veteran. He then worked for the State of Florida in many positions for more than 40 years.

He was a devoted family man, an art lover, and in his later years he particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him and many whose lives he touched during his years of service with the State of Florida.

Graveside services will be held at the Tallahassee National Cemetery on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. Following the services the family will celebrate Joe’s life in the Capital Room of  Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road – Tallahassee.
