James L. Miller age 74 of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away Monday, February 4, 2013, at his home.
Jim was born August 25, 1938. He was the son of the late Nathan C. and Millicent Eisenach Miller. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Menasha in 1957 and attended the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh. Jim worked for the George Banta Company, then went into sales at Central Paper Company and later returned to George Banta Company before retiring in 2001. After retirement he stayed active in the community and was president of Summer Brook Association from 2004 until 2011. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church on Mahan Drive. During his time in Chicago he met and married the love of his life Carolyn Carter Morgan. Jim was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan, also he loved to fish in Canada with his brother Bob and special friend Mike Gale and in Tallahassee with his buddy David Beach. Jim was also a golfer and loved bragging about his Birdies and Eagles with his friends.
Jim is survived by his beautiful wife, Carolyn of 31 years; his son, Dean (Sheri) and children, Carson and Abby; son, Keith (Diane) and children, Tiffany and Megan; his daughter, LuAnn (John) adn children, Kristin, Jonathan, and Anna; step son, Scott (Anu) Morgan and children Jasmine and Jaiden; step son, Paul Metcalf; a very special granddaughter, Ashley Metcalf whom he and Carolyn raised since infancy. Other survivors include his brother, Tom (Jeanne) of Pheonix, AR; brother, Bob (Seri) Miller of Appleton, WI; sister, Judy (Don) Otto of Menasha, WI and a special friend, Father Dean Dombrowski and special niece, Heather Piper.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, February 8, 2013, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 9 , 2013, at Cullley's Timberlane Chapel with a reception to follow. Interment services will be private at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. A special Mass and gathering will be in Menasha, WI, in the summer for friends and relatives.
