Neal was a 1970 graduate of Rickards High School and upon graduation from high-school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp and was honorably discharged. In November of 1984, he met his wife Karen. They married a year later and remained married for 35 years. Neal worked as a painter, and was a paint contractor for 25 years until his retirement in 2015.
Neal was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Joann Clayton and Kay Caudill, and his In-laws Joe and Barbara Farrell. He is survived by his wife Karen Farrell Harper, his four children: Joseph Garrett Harper, John Neal Harper (fiancé Breanna Scarbrough), Kimberly Danyel Harper (Scott), and Emilie Marie Harper. His grandchildren: Leila Grace Harper and Christian Gage Harper. He is also survived by his sister Fay Hollis, four brother's and sister's In-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and love ones.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 3415 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with burial at White Church Cemetery in Woodville, FL. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road, is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
