All the same person! This is an example of this complex yet simple and humble person. Jim was kind and approachable by nature He often had conversations while standing in a check out line or pumping gas.
His quick dry witty humor was sometimes misunderstood by “normal people”. But those that live in that same world LOVED him.
He was an animal whisperer. He talked in the softest and sweetest voice to
all critters. They would relax and respond to his voice and touch.
He was such a joy and will be missed by many. Jim was born January 25, 1937 in Los Angeles, California. He had various careers including comptroller for a family owned company and various other large companies.
He was an insurance adjuster, worked in finance and investments, owned his own business and did ANY job necessary to support his family. Including driving a school bus, delivering newspapers, tile and brick work. He owned a pet sitting business as well.
Jim was a Marine and proud of his service.
A large portion of his life was in Florida including the last 20 years in the Tallahassee area. He was an active man throughout his life. Whatever sport or game he chose he would become obsessed. Work and work to be the best he could be. Tennis. Golf. Backgammon. Bridge. He was intellectual and athletic. He loved all things that were
challenging. Sometimes to his family's dismay!
Jim is survived by his wife Joy Green of Tallahassee, his daughter Gabrielle Green Bock Hirth, son in law Brandon Hirth, two granddaughters...Adelyn Joy Hirth and Noelle Isabella Hirth, all of Thailand, formerly Grand Rapids, Michigan. He has one sister, Linda Wright of Fredricksburg, Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
