Eugene George (Gene) Newman, age 81, of Tallahassee, born in Frostproof, passed away onTuesday, August 12, 2014.
He honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he owned Newman's Auto Air until his retirement. He had a love of softball and was a long-time sponsor of softball in the Tallahassee area.
He is survived by his wife, Christel Newman; sons, Rodney Newman and Adam Newman; daughters, Stacie Newman and Jan Newman. He had 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral services will be held at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home on Riggins Road, Sunday, August 17. The visitation will be from 1 to 2, with a service following in the Chapel. Burial immediately following the service at Roselawn Cemetery.
