Born on May 23, 1943 to Ivan and Alma Swartzentruber in Iowa City, IA, where she grew up with five brothers and sisters and went to school. After graduation, she married and moved to Florida. After her divorce, she met and married Myron. She was an avid bowler, where at one point Myron and her were in a league. She got interested in painting, and liked playing computer games, and working in her garden. She also volunteered at the VA hospital along with her husband for 2 years.
She was a bookkeeper for 2 insurance companies, office manager for Motel 6 and retired from Uncle Bob's Storage as office manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Alma Swartzentruber; a brother Donald Swartzentruber (Twila) and sisters Martha Fern Miller (Alvin) and Jo Ann Miller.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Myron Silvey, brother Lee Swartzentruber (Kathy), and sister Geneva Miller (Dell). She is also survived by her sons, Dean Helmuth (Brittany), Gene Helmuth (Susanna) and step-sons, Jeff Silvey (Becky), Mike Silvey (Susan), Joe Silvey (Laura) and Jason Silvey (Shannon). She is further survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
