Ellen Stitt, 84 of Apalachicola Florida—actor, teacher, mother, wife, mystery writer, painter, birder, poet, gardener, cook, traveler, friend, and beautiful human, died on 28 May 2022 age 84 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare following a heart attack. Ellen was born in 1938 in Cleveland Ohio to June and Alfred Ebert and graduated from Brush High School, Denison University, the Ohio State University, and Case Western Reserve University.
She is survived by husband Myron Stitt, daughter Laura Valendza, son Jamie Douglas, and sister-in-law Martha Stitt.
Her recently completed mystery novel, Death in Bright Colors awaits publication.
In lieu of flowers, Ellen’s family suggest that donations be made in her name to Tabernacle-Faith International Ministry 148 8th St, Apalachicola, FL to support the work they do for children in the community.
