Elizabeth Kirkwood Sliger of Tallahassee passed away at home on May 16, 2018 after a lengthy battle with invasive cancer. Elizabeth was born in August of 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduation from high school in Columbia and a year’s travel throughout Europe, she relocated to Tallahassee with her mother and brother. She worked for over 30 years with the State of Florida, first with the Department of Transportation and finally settling in with Florida State University, her beloved Seminoles. Her field of expertise was architectural engineering.
Elizabeth was lover of all animals with a long history of pet cats and dogs. Two of her cats were beside her when she died. She also loved the outdoors, especially the beach, music of all types, and good food; she was an excellent cook. Elizabeth very much enjoyed having fun, participating in good times with numerous friends and relatives.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving son: Paul Bernard Sliger; two charming grandchildren: Colin and Isabel Sliger; a brother: Earle Kirkwood and a sister: Penny Haley.
The family requests that legacy donations be made in her name to either St. Francis Wildlife and/or the Leon County Humane Society.
