Eddie W. Turner, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 16, 2020 in Tallahassee, FL. He is a Christian and member of Centerville Road Church of Christ and previous member of Ocoee Church of Christ in Ocoee, FL.
He is lovingly survived by his daughters Angela Glover of Astatula, Fl and Sandi Mills and her husband, Tommy Mills, of Tallahassee, FL and by his three grandchildren: Tommy and Marissa Mills and Mikhail Glover. He is also survived by his brother Jim Turner and two sisters: Sue Clark and Darlene Toler and her husband, Robbie, as well as nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends including his church families and his Allegro family.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Inez and Jessie Willard Turner, grandparents, Pansy and Bill Newton, and Mamie and Berry Turner, as well as aunts and uncles, a brother-in-law and a great-niece.
After proudly serving with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, Eddie returned to Central Florida where he worked with W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractors for 30 years. He was most proud of his work on the construction of several area theme parks including Disney’s Magic Kingdom. After retiring in 2006, he relocated to Tallahassee, FL and has resided at Allegro since 2011.
He enjoyed doting on his grandkids, going on outings with his Allegro family and worshiping his God with his Christian family. He got a kick out of using the nick-name ET and often said ET wants to go home. ET is now home with his Lord.
Eddie (Dad/ Paw-Paw Eddie) will be greatly missed but left a loving and lasting impression with everyone that was blessed to know him.
A funeral service will be held at Tallahassee National Cemetery on February 24th in Tallahassee, FL at 11 AM for all his family and friends.
