Clayton Earl "Russ" Russell of Tallahassee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10th at the age of 93. Born February 24, 1922 in Sheperdsville, Kentucky , Russell is survived by his two daughters, Lynda Russell Woodard and husband L.A. of Tallahassee, Sandra Helin of Austin, TX and their mother, Pauline Russell Frederick of Tallahassee.Russell was a World War II veteran who served in North Africa, Italy and Japan with the U.S. Army Signal Corps of the 62nd Battalion. He was an active member of many community and military service organizations including the VFW, the American Legion, the Moose and Elks Clubs.While in Tallahassee, he served as Commander of VFW Post #3308 and District Commander for North Florida. Visitation will be at Culley's MeadowWood on Timberlane on Friday, March 13 from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. in Culley's MeadowWood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the veterans organization of your choice.
