Clara Marsh

Clara Strickland Marsh, 92, passed away after a brief illness on Octorber 6, 2012.

She was born in O’Brien, Suwannee County, Florida, to Frank and Una Strickland.

She is survived by two daughters, Glynn Marsh Alam and Dianne Marsh Clark; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Clark Williams (Dallas). Her husband of 70 years, U. B. Marsh, predeceased her in March of this year.

Mrs. Marsh grew up in a farming community in the Mayo area. Her extended family also lived in the area and many stories of childhood fun and hardships during the depression came from the time. She married U. B. in 1941. After WWII, they made their life in Tallahassee. Clara worked for many years for the Department of Motor Vehicles. Her primary profession, however, was homemaker, truly enjoying the qualities of a good home and good food.

Funeral services will be private. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the residence of Glynn Alam on Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
