Christopher Johnathan Lamar Rayam

Christopher and his family moved from Newark, New Jersey to Tallahassee, Florida in 1991. He was the youngest of 3 children and known as the baby of the family. He was a quiet child to others but a spirited talker to his family and friends. At a young age he displayed a fiery spirit and an undeniable love for wrestling, gaming, and basketball. Christopher was raised and educated in Tallahassee, Florida. He graduated from Leon High School in 2005, where he had a true passion and devotion for basketball. He was captain of the basketball team and was awarded Defensive Player of the year. Christopher went on to play college basketball in Erie, Pennsylvania and San Diego, California. He was a loyal friend, the ultimate jokester, and as witty as they come. His profound love for his family was indescribable and truly unmatched. Christopher loved the Lord and it showed in his daily tasks and motivational conversations with friends and family.

Christopher was the father of 3 daughters: Laylah Rayam (12), Kaleigh Rayam (8) and Nylah Rayam (2). He was the epitome of the word Father. He was a fearless protector and an amazing provider. He cultivated such a loving home environment and built the most unbreakable and everlasting bond with his children. He viewed being a father as an honor and a privilege. Whenever you saw Chris, you saw one of his daughters and could not help but admire his display of unconditional love for his girls.

Christopher was a hard and dedicated worker. He was committed to doing his best and making others smile. He worked as a devoted Crew Member at Trader Joe’s and was a remarkable Kitchen Captain and Corporate Trainer at Hooters of Tallahassee. His co-workers explained him as confident, funny, and loyal. He had a passion for cooking and always created new sauces and dishes for his work family at Hooters to try.

He is survived by his three daughters: Laylah Rayam, Kaleigh Rayam and Nylah Rayam and his loving girlfriend, Shandrika Stevens of Tallahassee. Mother; Candace Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Father; Randy Rayam and Stepmother Cheryl Rayam of Tallahassee, Older Brother; Joshua Rayam of Tallahassee, Older Sister; Sophia Rayam of Miami, FL., Nephew; Jeremiah Rayam of Atlanta, GA, Stepbrother; Juan Alegria, Stepbrother; Justin Alegria, Stepsister; Jessica Alegria of Tallahassee. Grandfather; Apostle Leonard Rayam of Newark, NJ. Step Grandmother: Earnestine McMillian of West Burlington, IA. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is proceeded in death by his Grandmother; Mattie Mae Rayam, Grandfather; Pastor Willie Williams and Grandmother; Eleanor Williams.

The Rayam family will receive friends on the evening of Thursday, January 21, 2021 from 6-8pm in the Capitol Room of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home - 1737 Riggins Road.
