Christopher Robert Gault (born Christopher Gault Berger) died peacefully at his home in Tallahassee on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Chris was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, but later moved with his family to West Palm Beach. He attended Florida State University, where he earned a degree in business and where he met his wife of 42 years, Robin Reed Gault. They were married at the Episcopal Chapel of the Resurrection in 1969. Following college, Chris joined the
U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Robins AFB in Georgia. After leaving the Air Force, Chris and Robin lived and worked in Orlando and Miami before settling in Tallahassee in 1980.
Chris felt richly blessed in his marriage and in his 27-year career at Skandia Window Fashions. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. They visited many parts of the United States as well as England and Scotland. Chris will be remembered for his loving spirit and his faith in God. Chris was predeceased by his-father Robert R. Berger and his mother Audrey Gault Graham. He is survived by his wife Robin, his brother Kenneth R. Gault (Alice) of Tampa, nephew Kenneth Gault, Jr., and niece Allison Gault Fonseca (Anthony).
The family would like to express special thanks to Big Bend Hospice and to Hopewell Nursing Services, who made it possible for Chris to spend his last days at home as he had wished.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church on Saturday, August 27th, at 2 p.m. followed by a receptionin the parish hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Comforter Food Closet ministry.
