Bernard Francis Daley Jr (Bernie) passed away on May 10th 2022. He was 74. He lived in Tallahassee for more than 41 years. He was born in Mechanicville, NY on December 29th, 1947 to Angela and Bernard Daley Sr. When he was eight years old his family moved to Miami, FL. He attended Chaminade-Madonna Prep where he played football (quarterback.) He then attended Florida State University where he was on the freshman baseball team (shortstop.) He went on to attend Univ. of Tennessee Law School. He worked as a sportswriter for many years including in Knoxville, TN where he met his wife, Betsy. They settled down in Tallahassee to start their careers and raise kids. He was an attorney in Tallahassee for more than 35 years. He was very humorous and generous. He loved all sports, but mostly golf and baseball. He loved coaching little league baseball and driving his grandkids around.
He is survived by his two children Anna D. Clayton (Cameron) and Jonathan C. Daley (Ngozi). Two granddaughters, Caliana Caravello-Daley and Chloe Clayton. Two grandsons, Jesse J. Clayton and Johnny Clayton. Two brothers William Daley (of Miami, FL) and David Daley (of Cocoa Beach, FL). Several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and countless cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth “Betsy” Campbell Daley, his mother and father Angela and Bernard Daley Sr, and his sister Maureen Theodore.
He will be missed.
