The family never had extensive wealth but were long on love and laughter. Growing up Sandra was given the nickname"Dink" due to her small stature, a nickname that stuck with her for life. What she lacked in size she more than made up for in her personality. Sandra was smart, possessed a quick wit, and was fun loving. She worked long and hard to obtain her Master's Degree in Social Work. She served the US Government as a Lt. Colonel as a Health Services Director of Social Services, a job she loved. When Sandra wasn't working, she shared her life with her son, Ave, and two beloved canine companions, Khoe and Taz. Sandra was a woman of many talents. She was a gifted gardener, and created a beautiful yard complete with peonies, irises, evergreens and fruit trees. She was an talented bonsai artist and had a life-long love of her trees. . She worked in stained glass and was an accomplished seamstress who never needed a pattern to sew an outfit or draperies. She and Ave loved to spend time in the kitchen creating wonderful dishes to share with family and friends. Considering her love of adventure, she loved to travel and spent time in Idaho, Washington and Arizona., but her heart was always at home at Welling. Most everyone that knew Sandra knew that she had a superb sense of style and sophistication, she was classy as a matter of point, but never forgot that she came from humble beginnings. She could spot a bargain a mile away! Sandra was quick to let you know when you had crossed the boundary and even quicker to forgive. A Roman Catholic by faith, Sandra was called home to her Lord and Savior on April 23, 2012 at her home in Welling with her family at her side. Sandra was 62 years old.
