

Rosie Marie Dykes (“Ro Ro”), passed away surrounded by family and loved ones, in her home in Rocky Ford on Tuesday March 25, 2025, at the age of 72. She was born on August 18, 1952 in Tahlequah, OK to Louis and Jessie Dykes.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Geneva and Freda Dykes, brother Dave Dykes, sister-in-law Hazel Dykes, brother-in-law Bill Washington, and nephew Chewey Rector.
She is survived by a loving family that includes: brother David Dykes and wife Jodie Dykes of Twin Oaks, OK, sister Lou Washington of Rocky Ford, OK, sister Faye Manning and husband James Manning of Chance, OK; five nieces Diana, Rhonda, Sheila, Penny, and Andrea; seven great nieces Letitia, Jessie, Alyssa, Loren, Felicia, Madison, and Amber; one nephew Chero, five great nephews Cody, Chooch, Choogie, Dawson, and Colin; four great great nieces Tigeris, Makenzie, Amelia, and Malana; and one great great nephew Lyjah.
Rosie grew up and lived in Rocky Ford for most of her life. She graduated from Oaks Mission High School. She attended Draughon Business College in Tulsa. She worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Arlington, Virginia for one and half years before she moved back to Oklahoma. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business from Northeastern State University. She was a dedicated worker at Gates Rubber Company for 36 years.
Rosie was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and loved to travel to OKC to watch the OU softball girls compete in the Women’s College World Series. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage and was a fluent speaker. Rosie was a blessing to everyone, and she gave more than she received. Her generosity knew no bounds. She was a loving soul to all of her nieces and nephews and loved to spoil each one. She was a joy to be around and was always there to share a good laugh.
Although Rosie has gone to be with the Lord, she will live in our hearts forever.
Funeral services for Rosie will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 1:00pm at Reed-Culver Chapel with Pastor Charlie Shell officiating. A time of visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 11:00am at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Bill Batt Cemetery in Rocky Ford.
Serving as pallbearers include Chooch Quinn, William Cochran, Colin Rector, Greg Green, Cody Russell and Choogie Young. Honorary pallbearers are Lyjah Quinn, Dawson Rector, Tyrel Rich, Jake Littledave, Skunk Littledave and Bobby Littledave.
