Margaret Brackett Brackett-Hummingbird

Tahlequah, OK- Graveside services for Margaret (Brackett) Hummingbird will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Tahlequah City Cemetery with Reverend Pat Freeman officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3rd, 2013 at Reed-Culver Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Margaret Hummingbird was born on May 3rd, 1919 in Welling, OK, the daughter of Mige and Jane (Batt) Brackett. She attended school in the Barron Fork Creek area and loved the Illinois River. She met and married Jess Travis Hummingbird and together they raised seven children. Jess preceded her in death in 1972. Margaret was a homemaker by profession. She spent her spare time making quilts, all types of dolls, and cakes from the oven!. She was outgoing and made friends easily. She was generous to a fault and loved and adored any activity that featured her grandchildren, she was their greatest fan! She loved to attend church and was a member of the Tulsa United Indian Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who went the extra mile for the family she loved. The Lord called Margaret home on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 in Tulsa, OK with her loved ones gathered at her side. Margaret was 94 years old. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sons Don Morrison, Richard Morrison, and Kenneth Morrison and one daughter, Carolyn Morrison-Edfast, and sisters Nancy, Martha, Elizabeth, Galela, and brothers William and Charles.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Eddie Morrison and wife Faye of Tahlequah, OK, Nancy Hummingbird of Tulsa, OK, and Jesse Hummingbird and wife Sandy of Bisbee, AZ.

Her legacy will be carried on by her 13 grandchildren, Travis, Mark, Lisa, Lee Ann, Don, Martha, Laurie, Joel, Laura, Wendy, Ronald, Monica and Jennifer. Her survivors include her 20 great grandchildren fiver great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
