Katherine Cobb

Funeral services for Katherine Green-Cobb will be held on Friday, March 13th, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Glen Carpenter officiating. She will be present for visitation on Thursday, March 12th, 2020 beginning at noon until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Junior, at Tahlequah City Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Pallbearers for Katherine include Steven Cobb, David Cobb, Wesley Cobb, Gary Neugin, Steve Lightsey, and Monte Kirk. Her honorary pallbearer is Carl Caudle.

Katherine Green-Cobb was born on Friday, May 20th, 1932 in Park Hill, OK, the daughter of Ruben Russell and Beulah Lucille (Keeler) Green. She grew up with two brothers, Herbert and Wesley. She attended school and then began her working career, working as a waitress at Cookies, and raising her family along with the love of her life, Junior David Cobb. They fell in love and were married on November 11th, 1950 in Tahlequah, OK. Together they raised a family of one daughter, Vickie Nofire and one son, Wesley Cobb. Katherine was the homemaker that loved keeping everything going for her husband and kids. When she wasn’t working, she was attending a garage sale, looking for the best bargain, and anticipating her family’s next visit. She raised beautiful gardens and canned everything she raised. She would sew and quilt with the best of them, and still find the time to watch a good western or the evening news. She adored her family unconditionally, and she cherished every visit from her grandchildren, they were her favorite people on earth. She was often found in the company of her favorite canine companions, Minnie and Ms. Pretty, listening to the old gospel favorites or maybe a little country and western music. Junior died in 2007, and she remained close to her family until her passing on Monday, March 9th, 2020 in Tahlequah, OK, with her loved ones close by her side. She was 87 years old, and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her grandparents, her husband Junior, one sister and two brothers.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Vickie Nofire of the home in Briggs and Wesley Cobb and wife Janet of Welling, OK. She lives on in her four grandchildren, David Cobb of Tahlequah, Steve Cobb of Welling, Amanda Ingram of Briggs, Victoria “Tudy” Rose of Briggs, and nine great grandchildren, David Cobb, Chad Cobb, Gary Cobb, Katie Cobb, Daniel Cobb, Gary Neugin, Breanna Ingram, Mandi Ingram, and Hidie Rose, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones, too numerous to mention.
