John Herbert White was born the youngest of nine children to Jimmie and Laura (Robbins) White. He attended school and then began his university studies at Rogers State University. He made his living as an Accounting Clerk at Cherokee Nation. He also worked at convenient stores as a clerk. When he wasn’t working, he loved to listen to music and play his guitar. He was a heavy metal enthusiast and was a big fan of Jimi Hendrix, and never missed a chance to go see his favorite stars in concert, such as Alice In Chains and Iron Maiden. He liked a day spent at the local fishing spot, or curling up on the couch to watch a spooky movie with his family. He was a gifted artist and drew in pencil and pen. When there was an evening out, he liked meeting up with friends at the casino to share a meal and talk the night away. The best times in life for Johnny were with his family, enjoying a gathering or sharing a holiday meal. He adored his twelve grandchildren and was always ready to go support them at their sporting events and anything else they decided to do. He was laid back, and had the best sense of humor, if this man couldn’t get you to laugh, you were beyond hope. He was likely to be the life of the gathering. He was kind, compassionate and always tried to make life for others better when he was able. He was never too busy to spend time with you, and always made you feel very special. He loved any chance to relax at home with Loretta by his side, they were best friends. His health began to fail him and he passed from this life on Friday, September 14th, 2018 at his home in Hulbert. He was 55 years old and leaves a void that can never be filled.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, James and David White, and his sisters, Lila Ann Robedeaux, and Sharon Kay Yell and husband Dale Yell, brother-in-law, Richard Bailey, his beloved grandparents, Price Robbins, Anna (Bird) Robbins, Sunday White and Lila (Shell) White, his two nephews, Ayden James and Geoffrey Michael White and a very special friend, Wesley Northum.
His memory is cherished by his loving wife and companion, Loretta Bass-White of the home in Hulbert, and his adored children, John Stephen White and wife Pawnee of Tahlequah, Nicole Lynn O’Kelly and husband Dustin of Hulbert, OK, and Laura Jane White of Tahlequah. He leaves his sisters, Renata Susan White, Margaret Bailey, Valerie Jane Spotted Bird, and Billie Jean White all of Tahlequah. Johnny lives on in his grandchildren, Ruby, Ella, Zoey, Emma, John, Dianna, Josiah, Layli, Atticus, Lila, Weston, Matthew, Julia and Ayden, as well as many nieces,
