Tahlequah, OK- Funeral services for John E. Gann will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Prairie Baptist Church with Pastor Fox Blackfox, Minister Ross Gourd and Minister Felix Johnson officiating. The Wake Service for John will be held at Johnson Prairie Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 beginning at 6:00 PM and ending at service time Wednesday. Pallbearers for John include Charles Gann, Rodney Gann, Zachary Gann, Justin Gann, Jonas Tehee, and Ed Gourd. His Honorary Pallbearers include Miller Ballard, Dewayne Tehee, Jack Gourd, Brandon England, Jordan Sawney, Buddy Clinton, and Ronnie Houston.
John E. Gann was born on April 9th, 1940 in Sunnygull Hollow, Adair County, OK, the son of Loonie and Daisy (Killer) Gann. He lived and attended school in the Greasy Community. In 1962, he met and fell in love with Ollie Mae Turner, and they were married in June of 1962. This companionship was blessed with 35 wonderful years. John worked at Tulsa Screw Products for twenty years, then completed his career at Mid-Western Nursery until his health would no longer allow it. He enjoyed spending his spare time watching his sons, grandkids, and nephews play softball, liked being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, cutting wood, picking blueberries, playing cards, attending Gospel Singing, and hog fry’s. He coached “Joe’s Allstars”, “Lazy Boys”, and was the founder of the family softball team, “Moodyville”. He was a Baptist by faith, and an active member of Johnson Prairie Baptist Church. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home on January 23rd, 2015 at the home he loved. John was 74 years old. He will be greatly missed by his many family and friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Ollie, three brothers, Frank, George and Little John Gann, and one sister, Patsy Beason.
Those left to cherish his memory include five children, Joann Tehee and husband Dewayne of Moody, OK, Gary (Foot) Gann of Tahlequah, OK, Anthony Gann of Tahlequah, OK, Jason Gann and wife Natasha of Moody, OK, and Elrita Beaver of Sallisaw, OK. He leaves one brother and two sisters, Tommy Gann of Stilwell, OK, Sally Gann of Stilwell, and Ella Qualls of Nicut, OK. He lives on in his fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
