John Chism Jr.

John Chism Jr. was born August 26th, 1954, in Melvin, OK, the son of John Chism Sr. and Thelma Brewer-Chism. He grew up in a home with four brothers and three sisters, attending school in Hulbert, OK. John served his country in the National Guards. He was employed by the City of Muskogee as a Sanitation Technician. He was the proud father of three sons and one daughter, Chris, Ricky, Kimberly, and Shelton. He had a big heart, always looking to care for those that needed help. Those needing a ride, needing help with a project, or just some good food, was always sure to find a little help from John. He was great cook, always fixing a pot of his famous beans, or a pan of fried pork chops, feeding anyone needing a plate. He was a family man who loved his wife, Carole, his kids and especially his grandchildren, they were precious in John’s eyes. Any time he had to spend with them was special. John put his trust in his Lord, Jesus Christ , serving him faithfully for the past five years at Antioch Baptist Church. John helped to care for his granddaughter, Miltiyanna Gordon and loved the chance to make her smile. John’s health began to fail him, and the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on March 23rd, 2016 in Wagoner, with his loved ones by his side. John was 61 years old. He will be missed by his many family and friends he leaves behind.
