Joan Alberta Steinmeyer Holloway

Park Hill, OK- Funeral Services for Joan Alberta (Steinmeyer) Holloway, 82, of Park Hill will be held on Thursday, May 9th, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Reed-Culver Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Loyd Kester officiating. Burial with follow in the Park Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.

Joan Alberta Holloway was born on October 28th, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Walter Steinmeyer and Hazel (Sullivan) Steinmeyer. She graduated from school and married Robert Holloway on October 17th, 1949 in Johnson County, IN. This union was blessed with four children , Yvonne, Michael, Rick and Dale. This union lasted until Robert’s passing in 1992.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had many talents and enjoyed working in her ceramics shop. “The Mud Hut”. She loved gardening and raised beautiful flowers, especially her favorite the iris. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and wildlife that came to visit. Joan was a talented cook and loved to prepare classic home cooked meals for her family. She also had a passion for genealogy and devoted hours to tracing the family history. Her family and friends describe her as kind, loving and a very caring woman who always put the needs of others ahead of her own at all costs. Her family meant the world to Joan. Every chance she got was spent in the company of those who matter most in life, her family. The Lord called Joan home from her earthly labors on May 6th, 2013 in Tulsa, OK with a loved one by her side. She will be missed by all those blessed enough to know her.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, one sister, Jeanette Walpole, one brother, Cyrus Steinmeyer, and one grandson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Yvonne Rowan of Tahlequah, OK, Michael Holloway of Tahlequah, OK, Rick Holloway of Tahlequah, OK, and Dale Holloway and Rebecca Boling of Haskell, OK. She is also survived by grandchildren, Lisa Tomboc, Robert Gilbert, and Pete Gilbert, nine great grandchildren, one soon-to-be-born great-great granddaughter, as well as several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Pallbearers for Joan include Gabriel Tomboc, Gerald Tomboc, Brandon Eubanks, Bill Wilson, Earl Wiginton, and David Spinks.
