Born on May 4, 1938, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Chooch lived a life filled with adventure, artistry, and a passion for fixing things. He served in the US National Guard and was a skilled handyman who could repair anything from a broken stereo to a lawn mower.
Chooch's creative spirit shone through in his love of drawing and painting. He was a talented artist who brought joy and beauty to those around him.
But Chooch's greatest legacy was his heart. He was a fierce protector of those he loved, as evidenced by a childhood story where he stood up to a bully who was picking on his brother. This act of bravery and loyalty was a testament to the kind of man Chooch was.
Chooch was preceded in death by his brothers, Nailer Hensley, Ronald Hensley, Lee Hensley, JC Hensley, and Orville Hensley; his sister, Iva Jean Hensley; and his mother, Marie Hensley (Bark).
He is survived by his sisters, Lueine Fairchild and Barbara McClain, who will deeply miss his presence in their lives. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the art he created, and the stories that will be told for generations to come.
Rest in peace, Chooch. Your love, kindness, and creativity will never be forgotten.
