Early Monday morning our Dad, Dennis Ray Morgan, met his lord and savior. Born June 24, 1951 to Chester Ray and Ruby Lea (Wilson) Morgan. He said many times it just cost $3.00 to get him here being born at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. Raised with one sister, Joyce and one brother Rick. He would tell you he was just a Poor Boy, that when he was young he would search for pop bottles to sell just so he could buy a cherry cake mix for his mother to bake.
His childhood years were spent in Fort Smith, AR later in Waldron AR. He worked on his mother’s family farm until the death of his father. At the young age of 16 he went to live with his grandparents Baxter and Tessie Wilson in Boonville, AR, he quit school and got a job at the Ark State Sanatorium, later he began iron working in Arkansas and Oklahoma and went on to building our many homes. Dennis dearly loved to fish, and hunt and got his fair share of deer until his health failed. He loved coffee, cigarettes and fox news. He sang every chance he got the song he wrote, “I’m a FedEx Man” and “My Mind Tells Me I’m a Ten When Really I’m a One”. He was proud to be married to our mother Kathy (Medlin) Morgan and especially proud of his children Bryan, Karrie, and Terrie. You cannot imagine how proud he was of his grandchildren; it just made his day if one would drop by. Our Dad was a humble and very simple man, he never asked for much, never needed much. His material things were put away November 22, 2021 and his physical strength and weakness was renewed and will on into eternity.
Those preceding him in death include, his beloved daughter Karrie Ann Morgan, Parents Chester Ray Morgan and Ruby Lea Coyle, sister, Joyce Lunsford, Brother Rick Morgan, mother-in-law and father-in-law Alfred (Slick) and Ruby Eller Medlin Nephew Pacer Lunsford, Brother-in-laws Vernon Lunsford, Harmon Wallace, Paul Pyles, and Jack Barnhart.
He is survived by his wife, “Mom” Kathy (Medlin) Morgan, son Bryan and wife Jeannie Morgan, and daughter Terrie and husband Greg Stone, all of Tahlequah, OK. His oh so special grandchildren, Drew Morgan, Alex Morgan, Nick Stone , Emily Stone and Avorie Stone, two step grandchildren Bailey Stone and Jaxon Stone, sister-in-laws Jackie Barnhart, Carolyn Wallace, Patsy and husband Clark Cox, Donna and husband Mike Graham, and brother-in-law Mike and wife Shelly Medlin, one longtime and special friend Dub Freeman, as well as, many nieces nephews and loved ones.
