Cheryl Leigh (Large) Smith

Cheryl Leigh Large was born on October 30, 1962 to Robert (Bob) and Joyce Large in Iola Kansas. Bob was a dairy farmer and Joyce a homemaker, Cheryl & her siblings grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma. She loved animals, riding horses was one of her favorite things to do growing up. Cheryl was a teenager when the family moved back to Oklahoma for good in 1981. Not long after moving back, she met Timmy Smith, who she married in 1983 and they had a daughter Rachel in 1986, they separated a few years later but remained close friends until Timmy passed in 2020. Cheryl went on to have a son, David Gill in 1990. Cheryl worked many different jobs in her life before retiring due to injuries.

She had five grandchildren, Macie, Dayton, Dexter, Isabella and Olivia. She recently became a great grandmother to Macie's son, Ky'rie. She treasured her grandchildren more than anything and her favorite thing to do was spend time with them. Cheryl had eight siblings, Robert, Bennie, Bert, Carol, Juanita, Rick, Joybeth, and Sarah.

Cheryl made the journey to heaven on Thursday, February 1, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Joyce Large, and love, Timmy Smith.

She leaves behind daughter Rachel Simpson, son David and wife Corissa Gill, and her beloved grandchildren Macie, Bella, Olivia, Dayton, Dexter and great grandson Ky'rie, along with her siblings, many friends, and loved ones.

A memorial service for Cheryl will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Reverend David Wiens officiating.
