Aaron Keith Sapp was born on August 15th, 1971 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of John and Mary (Gourd) Sapp. He grew up with two brothers and one sister, Nathaniel Sapp, Jay Garcia, and Terri Shocklee. Aaron grew up in the Colcord and Kansas communities, graduating from Kansas High School. His favorite hobby growing up was playing ball. He was a fastpitch coach and worked with the Rebel Warriors as well as other teams. When he was working, he worked at Cobb Farms as a caretaker in the chicken house. He loved his fellow co-workers and even though he was quiet, once he got to know you, he was your friend for life. He liked watching the St. Louis Cardinals and the OKC Thunder. He collected baseball cards, memorabilia, caps and jerseys. At home, he would curl up on the couch and watch “Lonesome Dove” or any other good western he could find. When he had free time, he was with his children, and he loved them. He was the proud Dad of three daughters, Brittany, Wendy and Ashley. He loved to take them fishing, swimming, camping and spending quality time at Lake Eucha. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and watching them play sports was his favorite memory. Fairfield Church in Stilwell was where his family gathered to worship and listen to that good ole gospel music. He worked hard, played hard and loved without judging. The brightest stars sometimes burn the fastest, and the Lord called this wonderful dad, grandfather, uncle, and friend home from his many labors on April 14th, 2025 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by the people who knew and loved this wonderful man. Aaron was 53 years old. He leaves an empty chair that can never be filled.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Sanders and Jenny (Proctor) Sapp, and Leonard and Louanna (Dry) Gourd. He also joins his dad and one grandchild, Carter Sapp.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Mary Sapp of Colcord, OK, children, Brittany Soldier and Kodie Glenn of Colcord, OK, Wendy Sapp and Daniel Reece of Colcord, OK and Ashley Sapp also of Colcord, OK. He leaves his brothers and sister, Nathaniel Sapp and wife Deidre of Eucha, OK, Jay Garcia and Lakota of Wewoka, OK, and Terri Shocklee and husband Leslie of Tahlequah, OK. He lives on in his seven grandchildren, Kaysden Soldier, Kimber Soldier, Kaybree Soldier, Draven Sapp, Jameson Sapp, and Mason Blain, all of Colcord, OK. He leaves his beloved nieces and nephews, Dakota Sapp of Eucha, Sierra Sapp of Eucha, Shelby Sapp and Bernie Miranda of Locust Grove, Mariah Shocklee and Caleb Mouse of Tahlequah, Leslie Shocklee and Roland Summerfield of Colcord, Layken Garcia of Wewoka, OK, Harley Shocklee of Tahlequah, Ryker Young of Tahlequah, OK, and Zayland Summerfield of Colcord, OK.
