Adolfo “Quate” Olivares Galindo Sr. passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015, at the age of 81. He was born on July 28, 1934, in Taft, Texas, to the late Luis and Maria Galindo. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was very passionate about deer processing and fishing. Quate served his country as a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves for twenty-eight years. He was employed with Reynolds Sherwin Alumina Plant for thirty years before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Olga and two brothers, Federico and Jose Deciderio Galindo. Adolfo leaves behind his four children: Sylvia (George) Cruz, Adolfo Galindo Jr., Oscar Galindo and Sonia (Rogelio) Ortiz; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Adolfo also leaves behind one brother, Luis Galindo, Jr. and four sisters: Frances Galindo, Margarita Rios, Maria Louisa Landeros and Isabel Perez.
Visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 10, 2015, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Taft on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 10:00 am with interment to follow in Taft Memorial Park.
