Josephine A. (Ciaccio) Tully, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Van Duyn Nursing Home. Born in Syracuse, Josephine was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area and graduated from Vocational High School. She worked for Morris Distributions for 25 years and then was a secretary for Countywide Appliance until her retirement in 2005 after 25 years of service. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles E. Tully in 1986, daughter, Dianne M. Tully in 1961, son, Richard J. Tully in 1988 and her sister, Nancy Ruffalo.
Josephine is survived by her son, David R. (Linda) Tully of Syracuse; two sisters, Connie Campagna and Mary Conti both of Syracuse; her brother, Victor (Cynthia) Ciaccio of Florida; three grandchildren, David (Victoria) Tully, Nicole and Kristin Tully; four great grandchildren, Elizabeth Tully, Jordan Marcano, Samatha Tully and Colin O’Brien; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday 8:45 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 9:30 a.m. in the Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Cloistered Dominican Nuns, 802 Court Street,Syracuse, NY 13208. The family would like to thanks the staff at Van Duyn Nursing Home for their care and support.
