Frances Josephine Gannon passed away on the 13th of July, 2012 at her daughter Vicki’s home in Jamesville. After 97 years, her work was done, her room was ready and she departed this life with her family by her side. A wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, avid gardener, loyal parishioner of St Vincent De Paul and St. Mary’s of Jamesville, and creator of her world famous oatmeal cookies, she was known by all as “Gram”. Frances was retired from the State Office building and was later employed at Northeast Community Center.
She was predeceased by her husband Daniel, daughter Ellen Savory, and son Daniel “Sonny” Gannon. She is survived by two daughters, Gail (Mike) Roach and Vicki (Roger) Baker; son Edward (Christina)Gannon; son-in-law, Charlie Savory; her grandchildren, Ashley Savory, Kathleen(Michael) Finn, Michael Roach, Colleen Roach, Danielle (Kevin) Neuser, Bradley(Gina) Baker, Seth Baker (Michelle Naylor) and Eric (Diana) Gannon, her beloved great grandchildren, Max, Elana, Chloe, Jackson, and Grace and her caregiver, “her girl” Laurie Cohen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 10:45 a.m. at Farone & Son Funeral Home and 11:30 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Church. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 1500 Park St. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice of CNY or St. Vincent De Paul Church, 342 Vine St., Syracuse, NY.
