Anne T. Goetz

Anne Theresa Goetz was born on April 15, 1929 and entered peacefully into eternal life on Sunday morning October 13th. Anne was preceded in death by her mother Caroline, her father Joseph, her sister Carol, and her dear husband, Joseph. She is survived by her loving daughter Jody, her son-in-law Anthony Spadaro, her grandchildren, Joseph (Karen Shortt), Cara (Robert Vietri), Christian, and her great-grandsons Conor and Liam.

Anne grew up in Brooklyn before marrying Joe in 1950. They ultimately settled in Huntington with their daughter. Joe, who was the love of her life, died in 1982 and Anne remained in their home until her death. Anne was an active member of her community, and worked at the Cold Spring Harbor Library, a job she truly loved, for 35 years.

A woman of deep faith, Anne was a devout member of Holy Name of Jesus RC Church for 42 years. She taught in their CCD program for many years and volunteered at various church functions. The Eucharist was immensely important to her and thankfully, she was able to partake of it until the very end of her life.

Anne was a devoted daughter, spouse, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to so many. We are certain she will continue to pray for us all from Heaven. Her caring presence will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Anne will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Road, Syosset, NY 11791. Funeral Mass will occur Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Holy Name of Jesus Church RC Church, 690 Woodbury Rd, Woodbury, NY 11797. Interment to follow at St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
