Mr. Bonnie Moore Boston, 91, of the Jackson Community of Screven County, Georgia, died Monday night, March 26, 2012, at his residence after a sudden illness.
He was born in Screven County, Georgia, was a life-long member of Jackson Baptist Church where he was a Senior Deacon. He retired from E. I. DuPont Company at the Savannah River Site in 1979, after many years of service. He was also a farmer and a WWII Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Lee Scott Boston, his parents, William Moore and Eula Mae Sowell Boston, and his sisters, Edell B. Williams and Ina Elizabeth Boston.
Survivors include: A Daughter and son-in-Law, Teresa A. and Larry Simpson of Savannah, Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Johnny M. and Rebecca Boston of Springfield, GA, Philip W. and Shari P. Boston of Philadelphia, PA, and J. Walter Boston of Savannah, Grandchildren, John Boston, Lindsey Tucker, Brad Boston, Kayla Boston and Christi Boston, A Great-Grandchild, Lane Boston, A Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law, Evelyn S. and Bernie Scott of Sylvania, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Boston will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Jackson Baptist Church with the Rev. Pete Wall and the Rev. Ralph Dixon officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: John Boston, Brad Boston, Will Boyd, Ben Boyd, Alan Scott, Richard Williams and Andrew Burns.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Chuck Clemens, Maxie Burns, Olin Boyd, Billy and Maurine Williams, John H. and Betsy Brunson, Bernie Scott, Members of the Senior Sunday School Class and the Deacons of Jackson Baptist Church.
Mr. Boston's body will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. Thursday.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
